Manufacturing software, compared by engineers
Every page here answers one buying question: which tools do this job, who is each one actually for, and what does it cost you to pick the wrong one. The tables are short on purpose. The verdicts name a fit, not a grade.
We list software we can describe honestly from its own documentation and from talking to the people who run it. Where a vendor paid for a labelled slot, the listing says so, in three places.

Shopfloor Index is an independent directory of software for manufacturers. Each page compares the tools that serve one job, ranks them for a stated kind of buyer, and says what each one is bad at.
A sponsored listing paid for a labelled slot above the editorial list. It did not pay for a place in the ranking, for its verdict, for its pros and cons, or for the facts in the table. Sponsored listings carry a visible label, a disclosure sentence under the card, and a sponsored link attribute.
We pick them. A vendor is listed when it genuinely serves the job the page is about and there is enough public documentation to describe it honestly. Vendors can ask to be considered on the For vendors page, and nobody can buy their way onto a list they do not belong on.
No. We do not host reviews and we do not aggregate anyone else's. A number we cannot stand behind would be worse than no number, so the pages carry written verdicts instead.
Shopfloor Index earns from labelled sponsored placements on comparison pages, and from nothing else. Vendor profiles, claims and the demo-request forms are free for vendors and buyers alike. The rules are on the editorial policy page.
Each page carries the date it was last reviewed, and that date only moves when something substantive changed. Prices and facts on the highest-traffic pages are re-checked monthly.
Use the contact page. Corrections go to the person whose name is on the byline, and a factual error gets fixed the same week.
If you build software for manufacturers and it is not here, tell us what it does and who it is for. Listing is editorial: we decide what belongs on a page, and the only thing money can buy is a labelled slot beside the list.
